Admissions

Due to the size of our school site we have a larger than normal PAN (Published Admission Number) of 45 children each year.  

We have seen a significant growth in recent years across all age ranges but do have places in most year groups, so please do not hesitate to contact the school office if you are interested in finding out more about our school.

APPLYING FOR A SCHOOL PLACE

Woodford School is a Primary Academy School and part of the Innovate Multi Academy Trust. The West Northamptonshire Admissions Policy applies. All applications are submitted to the Admissions Department at West Northamptonshire County Council. To apply for a school please please click here.


PUPILS MOVING DURING THE ACADEMIC YEAR

Applications should be made to Northamptonshire Admissions team who will apply the general admissions criteria. To make an in year application please click here.

Where the move is from a local school, parents are encouraged to discuss issues with the present school and seek to resolve them, bearing in mind that all local schools share agreed educational policies and standards. The Headteacher of the pupil’s present school will be contacted to provide information about the pupil.

Appeals are dealt with by the Local Authority.


APPLYING FOR A NURSERY PLACE

Did you know that we also have a wonderful nursery in our school grounds.  The nursery is open to children from 3 years,  all children are able to start from the half term after their 3rd birthday.  If you would like further information about our nursery please contact the school office.  We also offer a tour where you can see the Nursery and talk to the wonderful staff.

ADMISSIONS CRITERIA

Woodford Halse Primary Academy follows Northamptonshire County Guidance for admissions for rural village primary schools:

Our published admissions number is 45.  Places will be allocated to pupils who have an Education, Health and Care (EHC) Plan that names the school as appropriate provision. When there are more applications for places than there are places available, priority will be given in the following order:


TIEBREAKER

If the admission number is exceeded within criterion (2) priority will be given to those who live furthest from the nearest alternative school. If the admission number is exceeded within any other criterion priority will be given to those who live closest to the school.
